January Course in Rural Guangdong Province

The 2-credit course PCIX-SHU 102 Experience Studio: Making a “Good Education” for Migrant Children in Rural Guangdong Province will be offered from January 6 to 18. Taught by Dr. Liangliang Zhang, students will be immersed in an "ecological living community" in rural Guangdong, gain first-hand experience doing ethnographic fieldwork, and co-design a research project that benefits local migrant children's education. Truman Scholarship: Call for Applications!

The Truman Scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based award of $30,000 offered to U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals who intend to pursue a career in public service. Truman Scholars are persons whom the Truman Scholarship Foundation has recognized as future "change agents." They have the passion, intellect, and leadership potential that in time should enable them to improve how public entities—be they government agencies, nonprofit organizations, public and private educational institutions, or advocacy organizations—serve the public good.

NYU may nominate up to four students for the Truman Scholarship:
Apply by November 1, 11:59 PM (New York Time)!

Eligibility:

Current junior (need to graduate between December 2024 and August 2025)
U.S. citizen or U.S. national
Strong track record of public service and leadership
Commitment to a career in the public sector

NYU’s Comparative Literature Journal: Call for Editors!

NYU's Comparative Literature journal BRIO is dedicated to showcasing exemplary works by undergraduate students, publishing submissions across languages, disciplines, themes, and departments. We are searching for dedicated editors to enhance the journal’s operations. Prior editing experience and/or fluency in one or more non-English languages is a plus, but not required. This is not a paid position.

If interested, submit your resume and cover letter highlighting your interests and disciplines of expertise to briojournal@gmail.com by Friday, September 29. Submission of supplemental artwork or writing (academic or not) with your application is optional.
